I have been thinking about AFL has introduced a clearer concern for recognising where learners are and what they need to learn next. I feel that personalisation is wider as it thinks about how learners learn and what would be the most appropriate way for learners to learn. This may involve different teaching styles or alternative approaches to teaching. Everything can be learnt in more than one way and learning can be expressed in more than one way (Howard Gardner).
